As a proud resident of Cold Lake, Kari understands and appreciates the diversity of this province. With a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge and a B.Ed. in Elementary Education from the University of Alberta, Kari is a teacher who has built a career on supporting students and teachers and creating a strong educational environment for all children.
Her experience working with the community through local schools lead her to volunteer at AIDS Connection where she taught inmates about AIDS prevention. While she was a student at the U of A, she and her husband volunteered at an AIDS hospice, cooking for and socializing with residents.
Kari, her husband, and her son have deep roots in the Bonnyville and Cold Lake communities. This has given Kari an understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges for families in the Bonnyville-Cold Lake- St.Paul region. Good jobs, economic diversification, supports for small business, and a strong voice for the agriculture industry are priorities she will fight for as the next MLA for Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul.
Kari Whan and Rachel Notley's team are setting the course for a future that is for all Albertans, not just a select few. There's no room to turn back and undo our progress. Donate today to help elect Kari Whan and join the fight for Alberta's future.Donate today
